Package Pumping Station for UK’s First Net Zero Restaurant

T-T Pumping Station supplied a Jupiter Package Pumping Station for what is believed to be the UK’s first net zero emissions restaurant. A testing ground for future sustainable developments, the popular burger chain’s branch on the outskirts of Market Drayton is its first restaurant to meet the UKGBC Net Zero Standard in the UK and provides a blueprint for future developments.

The Problem

T-T Pumps received an enquiry for a foul water package pumping station to be supplied to a new-build wind turbine and solar panel-powered restaurant in Shropshire. The pumping station was required to serve foul waste from the restaurant and needed to have a 15m³ storage capacity.

The building is unique as it is thought to be the UK’s first UK net zero restaurant, being verified using the UK Green Building Council’s net zero carbon building framework. The building generates renewable power from on-site wind turbines and solar panels, boasting many innovations ranging from signs produced from old coffee beans to cladding made with recycled IT equipment and household goods.

The Solution

Working closely with the contractor SES Developments, T-T Pumps supplied a Jupiter Package Pumping Station, a robust dual pump PPS ideal for larger developments such as restaurants, hotels and hospitals.

The Jupiter is part of the Planet Range of Package Pumping Stations and is the largest version in the range, offering a capacity of up to 15,500 litres and a maximum depth of base of 4500mm. Designed and manufactured by T-T Pumps and approved by the BBA, it is also thought to be one of the largest mouldings manufactured in the UK.

The Jupiter is a favourite with major developers thanks to its capacity and robust construction, being widely used on major housing developments, commercial applications and industrial sites across the UK. It comes complete with submersible pumps, internal pipework, non-return valve, a high-level float switch and automatic control, as well as a light and audible alarm with mute button.

The chamber is manufactured using strong virgin grade polyethylene with a galvanised mild steel access cover, making it one of the most robust packaged pumping stations on the market. Three lower level 160mm inlets will accommodate a standard drainage connection with a discharge connection of 63/80/100mm MDPE / HPPE.

T-T Pumps offer a comprehensive range of robust Package Pumping Stations for any application and can help you select the most compatible PPS for your requirements. For expert advice, chat to our friendly team on +44 (0)1630 647200
