New Umbilical Pumps for High Performance Slurry Spreading

The Problem
Agricultural contractors Tellwright’s Agri, in Alton, Staffordshire, was experiencing issues with their slurry spreading system. Their existing umbilical pump struggled to provide the flow rate required to effectively distribute heavy, fibrous slurry, causing premature wear, blocking and recurrent breakdowns.
Forced to complete frequent and costly repairs of their slurry system, the business was looking for a solution that would increase performance, reliably handle their heavy-duty jobs and monitor the volume of slurry being spread for efficient nutrient management.
The Solution
Through one of our local distributors, Johnsons of Cheadle, we specified and supplied a PTH 100KK TTE from Cri-Man, complete with a galvanised steel frame, recirculation manifold, hydraulic priming system and flow metre for a single source slurry spreading solution.
This umbilical pump was chosen for its hard-wearing cast iron construction and high-head pumping capabilities, able to achieve up to 155 metres head.
Featuring a heavy-duty double chopping system and a multi-channel impeller configuration, this umbilical pump effectively reduces the size of fibrous solids and allows them to pass through the pump without causing a blockage for reliable slurry spreading and reduced breakdowns.
